More Battlefield 4 content to come – 6th DLC?

rsz_bf4-road-ahead-1Battlefield hyped up a super special announcement for earlier today. It has finally been revealed, and the announcement is…they will announce something later! That’s right, they made an announcement that they will make an announcement.

All joking aside, what was actually announced is that there will be more Battlefield 4 content, specifically noting in the blog post that, “Final Stand is not the end.” Now, this leaves a lot of room for speculation, as “more content” could technically mean more double-XP weekends and free battlepacks. However, the reference to Final Stand, a survey about what classic Battlefield maps the player base enjoys (by the way, go vote), and hints from certain developers (namely, David Sirland, or @Tiggr_), this is intended to be a big thing meant to really please t...

Final Stand reveal – play it early on the CTE

Final Stand

Today, Battlefield revealed the theme for the Final Stand DLC slated to release later this Fall. Final Stand will be the last (scheduled) DLC package of Battlefield 4 (there has been some speculation of a pack of re-imagined maps, but it has been no more than a rumor to date).

Final Stand will take place in snowy Russia, and the fiction involves scientists working on experimental weapons. One map is said to include a battle pick-up that will be a rail gun firing powerful bursts of kinetic energy. In the trailer released today, the map Operation Whiteout is shown to include the prototype hover tank. The Battlefield Blog post states that players will discover these prototype weapons and vehicles, which makes me wonder if the hover tank will be unlocked via capturing a point (expect that capt...

Battlefield 4 Naval Strike: Release Date, New Weapons and Vehicle, Carrier Assault Game Mode [UPDATE: March 30th Release]

DICE revealed today that the Naval Strike DLC will be releasing in late March [UPDATE: March 30th per the screen cap below] for Premium users, and since then more information has been shown on the relevant Battlefield page

Within Naval strike will be four new maps with wide variety in them, 5 new weapons, submarines for commanders, hovercraft, and the anticipated aspect, the new Carrier Assault mode, which is a re-image of the fan-favorite mode from BF2142, and one that many were hoping would make a re-appearance in Battlefield 4. Well it turns out it will be, but on the massive frame of a carrier ship, rather than a behemoth airship (though both are cool).

Here are the details:

* 5 weapons all-new to Battlefield 4
* Introducing the amphibious hovercraft vehicle
* Carrier Assault game mod...

Battlefield 4 indoor arctic map?

Sure you guys have seen the Battlelog trailer by now. The ”Next gen” is constantly talking about connectivity. Seems as though if they could find a way to connect us directly into the Matrix, they probably would.Yet it’s only now that it hints at what all this means.

The trailer shows just how connected the next installment in our favorite franchise is. With integrated smart phone and tablet support, this game is constantly surprising all of us in the best of ways.

Within the trailer they show a snippet of what this connection all looks like in play. Visible on a tablet with a map of a live game, a map appears and is covered in white snow. Also interesting to note is that this map looks like its 100% in doors.

I have made a video showing you guys what I am talking about and I also share...

Will Battlefield 4 Recon class be the new ‘Go-To-Class’? (Video)

As we all know now, the Recon class in Battlefield 4 is arguably the most overhauled. If you are not aware of why…..then where have you been? Time to catch up.

In this article/video I give reasons why I and many others may now see the Recon class as a viable option in CQB, Objective and vehicular maps.

In the right hands the Recon class in Battlefield 3 had potential to turn the tide. However now with all the new changes it seems as though the Recon class will be ridiculously powerful and will be able to hold itself up high against the other three classes.

In the video I talk about key points which has sealed my decision to devote more time to the Recon class which I did admittedly neglect a little in Battlefield 3.

Also to remain unbiased I have mentioned a point that might be seen as a...

Xbox One Exclusive Battlefield 4 DLC [UPDATE: Metro and Caspian?]

Speaking in a Q&A with Edge Online, DICE producer Aleksander Grondal revealed that the Microsoft platform, the Xbox One, would be getting a series of exclusives in the form of “popular maps”.

“That’s something we’re doing as an Xbox One exclusive,” He went on to say, “There are a few maps we’ve picked, we’re doing some re-work on them, adding a BF4 flavor. So that’s exclusive DLC for Xbox One. Some of the old maps are really good. And especially going back to BC2, I would love to see more of the BC2 maps.”

I’m sure these are timed exclusives which the PS3 had the pleasure of during the BF3 life cycle.

This could be some well needed good news for angered Microsoft fans due to their announcements at E3 this year.

[Update] Per Reddit user Demize99, dubbed a “Core Gameplay Designer @ D...
